With the global ban placed on the traditional tungsten light bulb,  a photographic era comes to a close. 

Over a hundred years of hot glass, of warm ambiance, of flickering, fragility, dimming, exploding and (my personal favourite as used by David Lynch) of water dripping over glass bulbs.

I will miss them... and hold tightly onto the box-full I still have.

But with only 10 % of its energy converted to light, and the rest to heat, its retirement is probably long overdue.
