Just finished shooting a black and white piece which leaned heavily on flares. The look was 'baked in' on a Red Scarlet, which utilised an extended set of cinevised Nikkor AIS lenses. The 35mm F1.4, the 50mm 1.2 and the 85mm 1.4 set the signature look for the piece.
At 640 ISO/F1.4 it takes surprisingly little to flare the lens... a mix of smaller tungsten fresnels 150w-650w doing the work.
The lenses flared beautifully!
